We are hugely excited to announce that this year’s STBB 2-Keep-a-Breast MTB Challenge will be taking place on 19 October 2013 at Overgaauw Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The main aim of this event is to raise awareness about breast cancer and all proceeds go to our two beneficiaries: CANSA and Cancervive.
In just 3 years the event has grown in stature to such an extent that it is now considered to be one of the prestige events on the annual MTB calendar, with around 1000 cyclists across all age groups expected to participate in this year’s ride. Our routes are enjoyable yet challenging and very well marked, our marshals are on the ball, and we have it on good authority that we have the best water tables in the industry!
But this is so much more than just a charity mountain biking event; it is a fun day out for participants’ families and friends too. At the finish line, on a large grassed area next to a beautiful lake overlooking the picturesque Bottelary Mountains, there will be large Bedouin chill out tents where riders can rest their weary legs and meet up with friends and supporters to eat, socialize and relax together. On offer will be an organic food market with a wide range of delicious meals and snacks to suit every palate, artisan beers, wine tasting, and activities to keep the children entertained. The finish line will be in full view so that everyone can cheer fellow riders on and partake in the prize-giving and several lucky draws.
This is one of the best organised and most enjoyable MTB events on the calendar, for a cause close to our hearts. Come along and enjoy the day with us!
