MTB Family video
Grey skies and wet ground at the Monzi Hippo Challenge didn’t stop 640 mountain bikers from arriving in high spirits, ready to race, with supportive family and friends in tow! The Monzi route was diverse and the scenery lovely – single-track through the forests, jeep track along farm roads, through sugar cane fields, and alongside canals made for a great 25km and 50km route with some killer views to boot. The supporters and kids had fun waiting for the riders to finish, and the Nashua Sky diving team jumped again for charity which is always great entertainment! See you at Kwambo Lion MTB Race on 30 September!
MTB Race Video
Riding conditions were excellent after some early morning rainfall settling the dust. With competition being stiff in the men’s 50km, top riders Sean Merredew, Tyronne White and Guylin van den Berg were the ones to watch! An awesome sprint finish made for an exciting race day at the Monzi Hippo Challenge over the weekend, with Sean Merredew taking 1st in the men’s 50km. The last race will be exciting as the top guys fight it out for the Series win.
Awesome Helicam highlights video – a MUST watch!
Thanks to Andrew of RC Helicam for putting this highlights video together of the Monzi Hippo Challenge. All footage is captured by The MiWay Eye in the Sky with some spectacular aerials across the farmlands in Zululand. Banana plantations, macadamia forests, fever tree plantations and sugar cane farms are the order of the day with this beautiful footage!
